Church of Divine Mercy has a group of volunteers known as “Marriage Partners” (MPs) who journeys with engaged couples as they prepare for their marriage. When a couple registers their wedding, they will be contacted by their MP. If they have not attended any marriage preparation program, they will need to attend either the Marriage Preparation Course (MPC) or the Engaged Encounter weekend or sometimes, even both programs.
The MP will share with the engaged their experience about marriage and married life to prepare the engaged spiritually and to impress upon them that marriage is a life-long commitment. The MP will assist the couple to select the appropriate reading and hymns, and provide an overview of the marriage rites. The MP will arrange a rehearsal with the couple and the relatives and friends assisting at the wedding. We believe that a well-prepared couple will be more relaxed on their wedding day. MPs continue to support the newly-weds as statistics indicate that the first five years of a marriage are usually when couples encounter difficulties.
