The Catholic Watchmen and their family members came together on Sunday, 23 September afternoon for a rosary making workshop facilitated by volunteers from My Rosary Ministry. The rosary stringed with metal beads through a para-cord and affixed with a St Michael’s medal and the St Benedict crucifix is aptly called the combat rosary which will be used to battle evil influences that are destroying the family today.
Young CW Leonard Ang who would be going for his overseas military exercise said, “The combat rosary came at the most appropriate time as it would give me the opportunity to pray and meditate on the mysteries during my quiet time in the remote exercise area Down Under.” CW John Tan, whose wife and two sons had joined him, said, “It was challenging but worth every effort when we see the final product especially when family bonding is involved. A combat rosary we can truly called our own.”
These self-made rosaries will be put to good use when the CW brothers come together to pray for one another, for their spouses, children, the parish community especially families undergoing turmoil. This collective spiritual battle to protect marriage and family never ceases.
From mid Oct, the CW brothers will also go through a 15-session programme called Biblical Vision of the Family to better understand and live out God’s design for marriage and family. Please pray for these Catholic Watchmen.
