Our ceiling has been decorated with Doves! Getting this done was no easy task! It took us about 50 hours to make the 2 nets by hand and 12 hours to assemble the doves on the net as well as raise them up. There are about 250-300 doves in total and more than 30 volunteers from the new Art & Environment Ministry were involved.
The dove has long been viewed as a symbol of peace and the concept of peace is definitely relevant to Christmas. Jesus was born into the world to bring peace between God and mankind. Consider the words of the angels to the shepherds on the day of Christ’s birth, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.”
A big thank you to all the creative minds and helping hands who helped with the Christmas decorations in the church. This includes making and putting up the doves, setting up the crib as well as placing the wreaths.
