The Church celebrates the Feast of Transfiguration, the day when Jesus revealed himself to his disciples by manifesting his future glory. The three apostles were wonderfully delighted with this glorious vision, and St. Peter cried out to Christ ‘Master, it is wonderful for us to be here.”
Not only is Jesus transfigured before the eyes of Peter, James and John, but they also hear the voice of the Father and “see” the Holy Spirit as the presence in the cloud. The entire trinity is present at this moment.
Let us celebrate this feast, with joy in our hearts and peace in our souls and with total confidence in Jesus, because not only is he God’s own son, but he is our redeemer and saviour who has purchased for us a place in heaven with him forever. Thanks be to God for all He has done for us.
